Asin's Ready in trouble?

Controversies surrounding the recently-held International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Colombo refuse to die. Now the latest addition is South Indian beauty Asin, who is reportedly shooting in Sri Lanka for Anees Bazmee's Ready (remake of the Telugu hit Ready) with Salman Khan.

Meanwhile, the FEFSI is still upset over Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi, who openly challenged the decision of the South Indian film industry. It is said that Salman Khan was so impressed by the scenic beauty of the country that he requested the producers to change the shoot location from Mauritius to Sri Lanka.

However, the decision did not go well with the SIFCC and now they have decided to launch a non-cooperation motion against Ready. Earlier, the SIFCC has also decided to boycott Bollywood actors and technicians who performed at the IIFA awards in Sri Lanka, following allegations of genocide against Lankan Tamils during the war against the LTTE and the continuing discrimination against them.

Meanwhile Asin is making a re-entry in Tamil with Kaavalkaran opposite Vijay. It would be interesting to see how FEFSI reacts to this?

Asin is going to Sri Lanka

Genelia just got escaped narrowly and now Asin seems to be walking into trouble voluntarily. Genelia recently had a harrowing time explaining she did not go to Sri Lanka to participate in IIFA after the south Indian film industry issued a ban warning. Though there are still a few things still to be ironed out in the issue Genelia managed to convince the people and retained her film with ‘Velayudham’ opposite Vijay.

But now even after knowing all the sentiments of south Indian film industry and the raging controversy Asin is packing her bags to Sri Lanka to shoot with Salman Khan. While the FEFSI is still fuming over Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi who openly challenged the highest decision making bodies of South Indian Film Industry, Asin’s movement to Sri Lanka is sure to evoke a hard response.

Asin is expected to leave for Sri Lanka in the last week of this month for her film ‘Ready’ with director Anees Bazmee actor Salman Khan. ‘Ready’ is a remake of a Telugu hit by the same name. The film was originally scheduled to be shot in Mauritius. But after the IIFA Awards, Salman Khan showed much enthusiasm to change the location to Sri Lanka. Ironically Genelia was also in trouble for ‘Uthamaputhiran’ which is the Tamil remake of ‘Ready’. Asin’s Hindi film already has a defaulter in Salman Khan and if Asin also joins the unwanted party the fate of her Hindi ‘Ready’ in south India looks a gone case.

For Asin the case is much more serious in Tamil. She is making a re-entry in Tamil with ‘Kaavalkaran’ opposite Vijay. Vijay is a known big supporter of Eelam cause. What will happen to the overseas business of ‘Kaavalkaran’ which is mostly of Eelam Tamils around the world?

Asin’s Bollywood dilemma

Last couple of days has been a testing time for Asin. According to some media reports Asin was dropped from the ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ Hindi remake. Producer of ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ Hindi remake Vipul Shah also is said to have confirmed that Asin is out of his film. Asin’s second Hindi flick ‘London Dreams’ was for Vipul.

There are many reasons floating for Asin’s ouster from the film. One says John Abraham refused to romance Asin feeling she is not sexy enough and he wanted a change. The other one is ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ is also a thrilling, fast-paced action flick with a strong romantic angle like that of ‘Ghajini’. So there may be a comparison if Asin plays the heroine in this too. The third one is she out because she’s busy doing Anees Bazmee’s ‘Ready’ opposite Salman Khan.

But sources close to Asin say a different story. They say Asin wants to regain he foothold in Kollywood and if she does the John Abraham film, her dates will clash with her south Indian projects and so she has decided to opt herself out and give priority to complete her ‘Kaavalkaran’ with Vijay, which is scheduled for a Diwali release.
